Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center Hosts the Third Annual Florida
Arts Festival
"Takes Two to Tango," February 29 at 8pm, and "Piece it
Together," March 1 at 8pm, make up the Third Annual Florida Arts
Festival at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center.
World-renowned artists perform music by Brahms, Mozart, Bartok,
Piazzolla, and more. Musicians will teach children across the
community throughout February and March.
Performers include violinists Peter Winograd and Caterina
Szepes, cellist Andrés Díaz, and violists Mark Holloway
and Jim Griffith. Winograd, the first violinist in the American
String Quartet, has performed in venues throughout the world, such
as the Great Hall at the Moscow Conservatory, the Aspen Music
Festival, and with the Toscanini Orchestra in Parma, Italy. Szepes
has performed throughout Europe, South American, Australia, and the
United States. Díaz, past winner of the Naumburg
International Cello Competition, has toured nationally with the
Santa Fe and Spoleto festivals. Holloway has performed with the
Boston Symphony, Philly Pops, and more. Griffith, executive
director of the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, graduated from
the Julliard School of Music and has since performed in Carnegie
Hall, Lincoln Center, and many others.
The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center hosts two outreach
programs February 28 and 29 from 10am to 1pm, open to all children
across the community. The public is also invited to watch musician
Bethany Dick teach local violin students March 15 as part of the
Third annual Florida Arts Festival.
The Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center offers ten percent off
ticket prices to members who purchase advance tickets. To purchase
tickets to the festival, please call or email the Art Center at
